“For all people who were ignorant of God were foolish by nature; and they were unable from the good things that are seen to know the one who exists.” (Wisdom of Solomon 13:1)
There is so much beauty in the world. The blaze of a sunrise. The rhythm of the sea. The miracle of a child’s laughter, the intelligence of a bird’s migration, the wonder of technology that allows us to speak across oceans.
And yet, how often do we stop at wonder without asking, “Who made this?”
We are a people who marvel at the visible but forget the Invisible who shaped it. We trace the contours of the masterpiece, but not the hands of the Artist. We give our time, our energy, our worship to the gifts… and forget the Giver.
Wisdom speaks to this very human mistake: being so taken by creation that we lose sight of the Creator. Not because the world is evil, but because our gaze has been misplaced. We are not condemned for loving beauty, but we are gently rebuked when we worship it instead of letting it draw us deeper into love with the Source.
This passage invites us today to refocus our gaze.
Look at the stars and let them lead you to praise. See the sea and let it stir your reverence. Feel the warmth of the sun and remember the One who said, “Let there be light.”
Let awe become awareness. Let gratitude become prayer. Let the beauty of this world not distract but direct you back to the heart of God.

The targeted attacks on the LGBTQ+ community—especially trans people—have unleashed a flood of anxiety. The dismantling of equity and inclusion initiatives also contributes to the distress….
Lately, every time I glance at the news, it seems like someone has spotted something strange in the sky—a mysterious light, an unidentified drone, or the ever-elusive “flying saucer.” I’ll confess, part of me wonders if one day it might be aliens, tired of watching us make a mess of things down here, showing up…
(Inspired by Luke 20:9–19) I stood in the vineyard at dawn, and the soil was not soft with dew,it was stained. With blood, with ash, with the silence of prophetsburied beneath bureaucracy. The vines were twisted with sorrow.Children’s laughter did not echo here.Only sirens.Only boots.Only the sound of wallsbeing built higherthan hearts can reach. And the Owner,God,keeps sending servants. They come…
The Truth We Must Name There is a sickness in our nation we can no longer sanitize with polite language: The United States government—through ICE, through its contracts with private prison corporations, through its policies driven by profit is participating in human trafficking. Yes, I said it. And I will keep saying it. When human…
